The Billion-Tire Problem
Un-recycled tire waste is an enormous global problem because of their non-biodegradability, flammability and their chemical composition that leads to leaching of toxic substances into the ground on dumping and hazardous fumes on incineration. Since they are hefty, thick, and made of multiple materials, scrap tires present distinct challenges in recycling and disposal.
The Solution
This new approach addresses the many processing difficulties encountered with traditional pyrolysis. Low efficiency, fouled heat transfer surfaces and low carbon quality has plagued pyrolysis technology for years. The microwave based technology has an 80%+ energy conversion, direct heating of the material eliminating heat transfer issues and a carbon product that has a low VOC content making it suitable for re-use applications.

TIRE HOG CAN PROCESS:
1,200 tires per day.
240 work days per year X 1,200 tires per day = 288,000 tires
Per tire yield = 10 lbs Carbon = 2,880,000 lbs Carbon/year
Per tire yield = 5.3 lbs Oil X 288,000 tires = 1,526,400 lbs Oil/year
Per tire yield = 4.7 lbs Gas X 288,000 tires = 1,353,600 lbs Gas/year
The Financial Benefit
Carbon
$1,036,800 (based on $720/ton)
Oil
